Avery went to Goddard today. He is doing fine in the new room but I am having to get used to it. Different teacher, different protocol. I found out that there is a kitchen with refrigerators that I am supposed to drop his lunch off in. I had no idea! Also, there was some scheduling confusion, probably because the first week he was there I screwed up the schedule by being in the hospital. So when I went to pick him up, he was down for a nap. He looked really cute in his little bed on the floor. He was being a very compliant little napping child. Here is his report. He was a caboose!

Big kids:

  • We worked on the first few pages of the enrichment book in Math In Focus. It is hard to tell how much I wind them through it and how much it helps them to understand how to set up an equation on their own. It is really apparent, though, that we need to stop and work on basic math facts so we won’t be all tripped up on that all the time. So that will be our next “unit.”
  • Both did 2 pp. Sylvan and Spelling
  • Naim did the DVD and book (Dog Bug) for Lesson 10 in HOP
  • Aaron did the worksheets for lesson 7 in HOP
  • Naim worked on Tt in ZB, I am also having him do lacing with shoestrings and stuff to warm up.
  • Aaron did a HWT page that had him writing words on different kinds of lines.
  • They did the Atelier Art project about texture using fabrics. (First unit lesson 3). It was also almost identical to the project they were supposed to do for Discoveries in Reading about Spots, so I combined them.
