(I’m backtracking so can’t remember much!)

• Finished Ch. 6 in Calvert Math. Talked beforehand about checking work. Did review as if it was a test, and then talked about the problems they had reading directions, checking answers, taking time, etc. Did test, both got 100% on both the Ch. 6 test and Cumulative Test. Amazing how much test skills, and now actual content knowledge make a difference in test score. I test them so that they can gain these skills because I know in real life, they cannot avoid tests. But damn if tests aren’t mostly worthless to measure content knowledge. Naim especially knows just as much as Aaron and both have blown tests because they lack test taking skills. When I prime them for tests right before, they both do perfectly.
• Worked on journals in handwriting, writing sentence school sentences “I step, I skip.” and -m-.
• Naim did reading HOP lesson 15. Aaron got HOP off because he finished the last book.
• Both did a few pp. in Sylvan. Played shape word memory game with Naim.
• Watched BrainPop about bees.
• worked on yeast experiments, but figured out we were out of sugar. used brown sugar, and figured out that yeast must not like brown sugar as much as regular sugar. So we put a hold on yeast experiments till we get more sugar.
• painted using texture mediums, glitter, pearl and sand. I’d show you the pics, but I CAN’T FIND THEM!
